“Gad, a troop shall overcome him: but he shall overcome at the last”-Genesis 49:19

Bible Reading:-Nahum 1:9; John 20:1-end.

An axiom says, he that laughs last, laughs the best!

Sometimes, God reserves victory until all the weapons of the wicked are completely exhausted. The text is a prophecy in respect of one of the tribes of Israel, declaring that Gad whose name signifies a troop, would be overcome again and again; but in the end they would overcome all their foes and have the final and established victory.

This is also true of Christians; the prophecy is a picture of our lives. We will face many battles and challenges in life. The enemy may seem winning, yet satan cannot win in the end; the final victory is ours. It has been gotten for us by the blood of the Lamb.

Before the Easter morning, the Devil thought he had won the battle, he was happy with the passion and death of Christ. Alas! Christ resurrected and thereby satan was put to shame. Ephesians 4:8 says: “When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive and gave gift to men” Paul also declared in 1 Cor. 15:55-57 thus: O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Brother/Sister, if you have lost battles, be happy you have not lost the war in as much you are still alive, continue to struggle; your victory is at the corner. The weapon of the enemy will soon be exhausted and you will have your victory. Your victory and peace is permanent!
