Theme:    TRUST IN THE LORD

Text: “Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose hope is in the LORD. He is like a tree planted beside the waters, that stretches out its roots to the stream” (Jer. 17:7-8)

We live in anxiety and fear because we are yet to put our hope and total trust in God. Children live anxiety free lives because they always trust their parents for their protection and care. This reminds me of one of my children, when he was younger has a big phobia for darkness, however, whenever I or his mother was with him, he is unperturbed, even if the darkness is as thick as anything. Why? He had faith and trust in us, that being with us no evil can come to him.

In our Bible Reading, God urges the Israelites to put their trust in Him and not to put their trust in the arm of flesh. They are to trust Him as children do trust their parents.

Beloved, we are to trust God, not in expectation that He will spare us from challenges and difficulties but that He will not leave or forsake us in our hour of trial. We are to trust God that what He says He will do and that all we need or will ever need is in Him.  Trust is at the heart of the life of faith while faith begins with belief. Faith is nurtured by growing in trust in God to bless and sustain us, all the days of our lives.

Lord, help my lack of trust. Help me to totally put my trust in you and as well to be trustworthy to others in Jesus name.
