Scripture Reading–: I Samuel 1:1-end.
Focus: “And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He heareth us. And if we know that He hear us whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him”
I John 5:14-15.
Hannah was for several years tormented, ridiculed and frustrated by Peninnah because she was barren. Though her husband showed her some kindness, she would not be consoled as she knew that the Ancient Near Eastern World permitted a woman to be divorced if found to be barren. She did not wait for that time to come rather; she took her case to God. While others were eating and making merry at Shiloh, she booked appointment with God and prayed her way through. Beloved, do not forget that, Jesus with His death on the cross had book your appointment with God. Do not miss this appointment every day, especially early in the morning. Be bold and free to go to His presence, He is listening. He is ready to help you, in as much as you ask in prayer. A song writer Joseph Seriven says in his song, What A Friend We Have In Jesus thus: what peace we often forfeit, what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.
Beloved, give more attention to prayer this year, both private and public prayers.
Never fail to keep your appointment with God.
