Text: “Isaac planted crops in that land and the same year reaped a hundredfold because the Lord blessed him”- Genesis 26:12.

Bible Reading: Gen. 26:1-end.

The Bible recorded that there was famine in the land where Isaac was sojourning and that famine had earlier happened in the days of Abraham his father. This shows that famine or economic hardship is not new as Individuals, Organisations and Countries had at one time or the other experienced economic hardship. Nigeria is currently passing through economic hardship; this in turn has made many citizens to experience financial and economic problems.

However, that a Country is passing through economic hardship does not suggest that every citizen will partake in it. God has a way of meeting the needs of His people. Isaac contemplated to go and sojourn in Egypt but this was not the plan God for him; however, he was obedient to the word of God which constrained him from taking a wrong step. Acting on the word of God, he planted and reaped hundredfold.

Beloved, acting on the word of God can change one’s situation for the better. The word of God has the capacity to reverse the laws of nature. Our desire should be to study the word and obey it. When we do this, it will be better for us. Remain positive and have faith in God’s word, follow Biblical teachings and injunctions and God will make your situation better. See what the scripture says in Psalm 37:19 “In time of evil they will not be ashamed, and in the days of famine they will be satisfied”. This is God’s promise for you.  All you need to do is physically, psychologically and Spiritual put yourself on the path of God’s blessings.

My prayer for you is that, as Isaac excelled in the land despite famine, you will excel and flourish in all your endeavours in Jesus name.
