Text: “But thou hast not called upon me, O Jacob; But thou hast been weary of me, O Israel”. Isaiah 43:22.
One major faith killer is discouragement, it easily steal or deprive one of one’s miracle. When it sets in faith will dwindle, ability and desire to pray will fanish, Hope will be lost; then fatigue will set in, fear will come up, frustration will have a hold; in short, one will not at ease, life will be difficult to live and one will become totally miserable.
In our focal passage, the Israelites had stopped worshipping and offering services unto God this was as a result of being discouraged. They became discouraged as a result of Babylonia captivity. Unfortunately, the discouragement led them to stop praying to God. They abandoned the only one who can redeem them. In their state of discouragement message came to them from where Prophet Isaiah have they abandoned Him. God is asking them why they have abandoned Him.
Beloved, we have to be careful when we are met with life challenges that it does not degenerate into discouragement. We should also watch it that we don’t abandon God Rather; let us strengthen ourselves and prevail on our knees. God is interested in our ordeals; He is ready to help us. John 16:24 says “Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full”.
