Text: For we walk by faith and not by sight 2 Cor.5:7.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Heb.11:1 & 2.
The Christian life is such that is expected to be lived in faith; reason why at our conversion, a level of faith is deposited in us by God. We are expected to develop it through the reading of the scripture and prayers.
A Christian is not expected to walk by sight nor by head knowledge as there are spiritual realities that natural mind cannot understand or comprehend when we limit ourselves to head knowledge and visible things, we will definitely miss out from experiencing God’s supernatural miracle working power.
For Instance, Andrew, one of the disciples was using head knowledge to imagine how 5,000 people could be fed by Christ with five barley loaves and two fishes. He remarked “There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves and two fishes but what are they among so many” (John 6:9). This is how many of us operate and miss out of God’s miracle.
Faith is trust in God and believing that as He brought out the seen world out of nothing and unseen things, He can also bring into existence things you’ve not seen in your life. In simple term faith is believe and trust in God, that He can do all things and what He says, He would do. When one is operating in faith, one is operating in God.
Beloved, faith is that magnetic agent that attracts us to God’s miracle such as the woman with the issue of blood, (Matthew 9:22) the paralytic man (Mark 2:5) etc. Faith makes things happen, Matthew 17:20 says if we have faith as grain of mustard seed, we will command the mountain to move and it shall obey us. Faith brings to existence things that were not. One thing about faith is that, it doesn’t give up, it holds on unto God until God answers.
I enjoin you today to begin to operate by faith and not by sight.
