Text: Matthew 4:11 “Then the devil left him, and the angels came and attended him”

There are some situations we find ourselves or issues we entangle ourselves with which we wonder how we got there. If not for the Bible which tells us from the onset, in Matthew 4:1-11 that it was the spirit of God that led Jesus into the desert, one would have asked why Jesus went to where He would be tempted.

Going to the desert to be tempted by the devil was part of God’s plan for Christ’s ministry. He had to go through it, it is inevitable. Sometimes unless we pass through some challenges and temptations we wouldn’t gain needed power and strength for our lives and ministry.

However, most of the problematic situations we put ourselves today are by our own making, we are not led by the spirit of God but by our own lust. Most of the time, we go to the Devil ourselves and get entangled.

Beloved, you may look into your life and discovered that failures, pains, problems, loss of Job, loss of a good wife/husband etc. were self-inflicted. You were tempted by the devil and you fell. You did not listen to God; you trusted in your understanding and made rash and stupid decisions and you are paying dearly for it today. The word of God for you today is that you will come out of it. Run to Jesus and He will help you out.

Whether the pains and burdens you are carrying are self-inflicted or not, your destiny will not be terminated, you are coming out of them all in Jesus name.
