LET GOD BE GOD
Leave your troubles with the Lord, and he will defend you; he never lets honest men be defeated. Psalm 55:22.
Being God is quite an endeavour. All-powerful. All-knowing. Able to be everywhere at once. Holy. Just. Infallible. He is the essence of love itself. Human beings don’t measure up, but that doesn’t seem to keep us from trying. Sound familiar? If so, it may be time to practise the art of letting God be God.
As you have probably already discovered, feeling ultimately responsible for your own life and the lives of others can be an incredibly heavy burden-and it’s futile. None of us really have much to say about what life brings our way. So make good, informed choices, plan and prepare, work hard-and leave the rest to God. When you let Him do His job, you express your faith in Him and His faithfulness to do His work. It will make your own faith come alive in ways that may surprise you.
