Welcome to Your Gilgal

“Because thou shalt forget thy misery, and remember it as waters that pass away” Job 11:16.

Bible Reading: Joshua 5:1-end

When God changes one’s lot from afflictions, distresses, poverty and miseries to abundance of prosperity and happiness which endures ceaselessly; those poverties, afflictions, distresses and miseries are easily forgotten. This was the experience of Joseph, who after passing through many tribulations made it to the throne and became like father to Pharaoh in Egypt. He easily forgot his pains and tribulations that he named his first son Manasseh meaning “God has made me forget all my troubles” (Gen 41:51).

Also when Jesus was crucified, the state of the disciples was hopelessness but when they saw the risen Lord, their hope was rekindled and their faith in Jesus Christ was strengthened. They forgot their hopelessness and had great joy.

Brother/sister, the promise of God for you is that your sorrows and miseries are going to pass away. You are going to experience unspeakable joy and peace which know no end. As we have in Isaiah 43:18-19,you will not remember again your past miseries for God would have done a new thing in your life.

Your testimony shall be psalm 126:1-3:“when the Lord brought back the captives to Zion we were like them who dreamed. Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, the Lord has done great things for them. The Lord has done great things for us and we are filled with joy”.

My prayer for you is that your pains will become gains, sorrow will become joy and failure will become success. You will laugh again and remember no more your afflictions, poverty, miseries and disappointments in Jesus name.
